On the 24th May 2024, Burton Hathow was awash with colour and joy as we hosted our very first Colour Mile. The event was a resounding success, bringing together students, staff, parents, and community members for an afternoon of fun and fundraising. With over 100 people in attendance the event took over £1000 for the Owls PTS.
A Day to Remember

Participants of all ages donned their whitest T-shirts, ready to be doused in a rainbow of colours. The excitement was palpable as everyone gathered at the starting line, eager to take part in the colourful journey ahead. As the whistle blew, runners, joggers, and walkers set off, each step covering them in bursts of vibrant hues, thanks to the enthusiastic volunteers stationed along the route.
The mile-long course wound its way through our school field, providing a picturesque backdrop for the event whilst overcoming obstacles. The laughter and smiles of participants lit up the day, making it a truly memorable experience for all involved.
Community Spirit and Support
One of the highlights of the Colour Mile was the incredible sense of community spirit. Families cheered each other on, friends ran side by side, and even some of our teachers joined in the fun, much to the delight of the students. The event was a testament to the strong bonds within the Burton Hathow community and our collective commitment to supporting our school.
Looking Ahead to Next Year
With the success of this year's event, we are already looking forward to making next year's Colour Mile even bigger and better. Plans are underway to introduce new obstacles and attract even more participants. Our goal is not only to raise funds for the Owls but also to continue fostering a sense of community and school spirit.
